WEIRTON (WV). — After picking up its first win of the season and scoring 51 points in week three, visiting Beallsville High failed to get on the scoreboard in its 42-0 loss to Weirton Madonna on Friday.
The Blue Devils were outscored 21-0 in the first and second quarters, but were able to prevent any further damage in the second half by keeping the Blue Dons scoreless.
WMHS started off the scoring at the 8:41 mark in the first quarter when Donovan Kirby scored a four-yard rushing touchdown followed by a Gavin Deitrich PAT kick to give the hosts a 7-0 lead.
Kirby scored again two minutes later on a six-yard rush and the Blue Dons increased their lead to 14-0 with 6:27 remaining in the first quarter.
Donovan Kinney scored the next two touchdowns for Madonna, the first being a three-yard rush to conclude the first quarter and the second on a 75-yard carry to begin the second quarter.
After Deitrich booted in his third and fourth extra-points, the Blue Dons owned a comfortable 28-0 lead.
Madonna was not done yet, scoring two more times before the second quarter concluded. Hunter Blaird was responsible for both touchdowns as he crossed the goal line from 16 and four yards out.
Dietrich remained perfect and kicked in two more PATs providing the final 42-0 score.
Pacing the Beallsville (1-3) offense was Dakota Phillips with 67 rushing yards on 20 attempts while Wyatt Brown carried the ball five times for 18 yards.
For Weirton Madonna (3-0), Kirby led the way with 194 yards on the ground and 47 through the air while Hunter Baird chipped in with 91 rushing yards.
Dietrich only attempted two passes for the Blue Dons completing one of them for 47 yards.
Phillips finished 1-of-7 through the air for the Blue Devils for no yardage.
