The last program of the 34th season of the SHOWCASE 2017 Summer Series was held last Thursday evening in the old Grange Hall location. Pavlov Polka Pals provided a variety of music and polkas while several audience members danced.
Featured poet in the printed programs was Steve "Easy" Whitacre of Barnesville. Winners of soda pop, courtesy of Convenient Food Mart were Carl Johnson, Judy Farson, Dale Johnson, all of Barnesville and Don and Betty Jo Shaw, both of Cadiz.
Recipients of prizes during previous concerts of the 2017 series represent several communities from whence visitors came this summer. Other winners were from Bethesda, Belmont, Jerusalem, Shadyside, and Senecaville.
Featured poets for the season in addition to Whitacre were Kimberli Ann Vetula Adamson and the late Dahne Stephania Vetula. Showcase Summer Concerts expresses its gratitude to the musicians, poets, and various individuals who helped shape its success this year. Thanks are extended to the advertisers and patrons who sponsored ads, and donated money, services and prizes.
The cooperation of the news media, as well as those who helped with stage preparations at Community Arts Place and Grange Hall is much appreciated. Those who attended the final concert received a printed program and copy of "Our Showcase Family," a patron's list of Friends of the Arts for SHOWCASE 2017.
