The Barnesville Hospital Auxiliary has a legacy of supporting Barnesville Hospital and the communities we serve. The Auxiliary consists of Twig and Leaf members who work tirelessly on many projects to raise funds for Barnesville Hospital such as Bake Sales, Luncheons, Sundae Sales, Book Fairs, Jewelry Sales and the annual Golf Scramble. Members also volunteer their time and talents throughout the Hospital, and by delivering Meals on Wheels and serving on Boards.
"The Barnesville Auxiliary and our many volunteers always go the extra mile," said Jan Chambers, Director of Development. "Their fund raising activities assist the Hospital to purchase equipment, supplies and to upgrade the facility. By manning the volunteer desk, assisting at registration and in ultrasound, and working on the patient floors they provide personal patient and visitor contact and assist our staff to provide outstanding patient and customer care."
This past year funds the Auxiliary assisted the Hospital to purchase equipment for the Emergency Department, Operating Department, Laboratory, Rehabilitation Services, Dietary, and Medical Records. In addition the Auxiliary donated funds to remodel a patient room for the Re-Dedication of the North Wing in Memory of John Sawvel and Clara Groves. During the past year Auxiliary members donated over $28,000 to benefit Barnesville Hospital.
"It is my privilege to work with the Auxiliary and the Volunteers. Each day they make a significant difference in the lives of others," said Ruth Anderson, Director of Volunteers. "They actively look for ways to give back to our Hospital and our communities."
