On Monday, April 24, Warren Township Trustees presented the Barnesville Fire Department with a check in the amount of $40,000 for their share of major purchases of fire equipment. Several years ago, a fire levy was proposed, and then passed by the voters of Barnesville and Warren Township. Without this levy, replacement of major equipment wouldn't be possible.

Assistant Fire Chief Tim Hall said the department's current fire truck is 21 years old and will be replaced later this year.

"The Barnesville Fire Department would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to those who voted for the levy and helped us to better our department, our equipment, and our community," Hall said.
