The Junior Women's Club of Barnesville once again sponsored hands on demonstrations from local artists in hosting their annual Youth Art Fiar.
The event was held Thursday, April 13, 8-11:30 a.m. at the Barnesville Middle School gymnasium. The event was open to the public.
The educational event was under the direction of art teacher, Mrs. Marge Young and was available to 5th grade middle school students. It was a great opportunity to introduce the students to various forms of art.
Artisans who volunteered their time and expertise this year were: Shelley Rockwell, quilting; Trish Doherty, macrame; Martin Wach, bee care and children's book author; Delia Wach, children's book author; John Duch, stained glass; Doug Lawrence, chair caning; Gary Wershing, iron/metal works; Melissa Carpenter, cake decorating; Twila Fisher, painting; Sharon Hanse, calligraphy; and Donald Barbe, jewelry making. From the Belmont County Soil and Water Conservation District were: Abbey Hayward, water cylce; Samanta Hearn, soil; and Liza Butler, furs. From the 4-H Belmont County Extension office were: Crystal Antill and Jane Keyser with a science demonstration entitled: "Hands on a Stick".
