COLUMBUS -- Columbus-based Emens & Wolper Law Firm, one of the state's leading firms specializing in oil and gas law and estate planning, today announced that Belmont County native Heidi Kemp has joined the firm as an associate. Ms. Kemp will initially practice in Emens & Wolper's Columbus, Ohio office and then relocate to a new Emens & Wolper office which will be established in Belmont County by the end of 2017 according to J. Richard (Dick) Emens and Beatrice (Bea) Wolper, co-founders.
Emens & Wolper provides legal counsel throughout Ohio in oil/gas and mineral law, estate planning, family businesses, asset protection and business succession planning. It also is recognized for its work as outside general counsel to family-owned businesses and in representing landowners and landowner groups on energy issues.

Kemp Bring Business, Legal Perspectives
Ms. Kemp joins Emens & Wolper after initially working as a law clerk for the firm. After graduating magna cum laude from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she was a managing editor of The Ohio State Journal of Criminal Law, she joined Dinsmore & Shohl law firm in Columbus, working in estate planning, probate administration, and trusts. Ms. Kemp is licensed to practice law in Ohio and is pending admission to West Virginia, which should take place on May 17, 2017.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Kemp worked as a Trust Officer for various banks and administered a wide array of accounts, including those for municipalities, charitable organizations and foundations, as well as individuals and families. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Bethany College, in Bethany, West Virginia, and earned her MBA summa cum laude from Wheeling Jesuit University.
