WOODSFIELD -- Switzerland of Ohio Local School District is pleased to announce that Jennifer Bohach has been appointed Chief Academic Officer effective the 2017-2018 school year.

Jennifer Bohach has been an educator for 32 years in the SOLSD. She began her career teaching elementary music at Hannibal, Midway and Sardis elementary schools for six years. In 1991, she came to Powhatan Elementary School where she taught for another 22 years. During her years at Powhatan, she taught middle school instrumental music, middle school choral music, and elementary music K-8 where she implemented project-based learning and teaching across the curriculum into her weekly lessons. Special focus was also given to incorporate music and literacy activities to strengthen syllabic awareness in grades K-12.

In 2013, Bohach became the River High School counselor where she worked closely with curriculum at the secondary level. She has attended numerous professional development sessions at the state level through the Ohio Appalachian Collaborative Straight A Grant that focus on student motivation, hope, college, and career readiness, graduation requirements, blended learning and student assessments. Bohach has presented at the Rural Educators National Forum, Ohio School Boards Association, Connect for Success, SOAR Learning and Leading Collaborative and the Ohio Valley ESC.

In addition to serving as school counselor, Jennifer is also the College Credit Plus Coordinator for the school district and has closely with local college leaders to create opportunities for the students of the district.

Bohach received her undergraduate degree in Music Education K-12 through West Liberty University and her master's degree in school counseling from the University of Dayton.

She will continue to serve as guidance counselor at River High School until the end of the current school year.
