The Switzerland of Ohio Local School District has named Rob Caldwell as assistant superintendent.

Caldwell currently serves as the principal of River High School. Caldwell started his career at Tyler Consolidated High School, where he was a special education teacher for 20 years. He was an assistant football and track coach for eight years. He coached many successful individuals and teams while at Tyler Consolidated and was honored and recognized for his accomplishments. He served as principal at River Elementary School for three years and has been the River High School Principal for the past two years.

Caldwell is a graduate of River High School and West Liberty University with a degree in health and physical education. He earned a special education degree from Ohio University and obtained his masters in educational leadership from Salem University.

He has two daughters, Candace (10th) and Camryn (7th), who both attend the River campus. His wife, Lori, is a real estate agent for Harvey Goodman. Rob and his family are lifelong members of the community and reside in Powhatan Point.

Caldwell will stay on as principal at River High School until the end of the 2016-2017 school year.

The district recently appointed Jeffrey Greenley as superintendent.The district also recently voted to eliminate its pay-to-participate policy for athletics starting in the 2017-18 school year and are re-examining the course catalogue.
