The Barnesville Middle School Book Fair Family Night was Tuesday, March 18. The theme was "Reading is a Fiesta" and included food prepared by the high school culinary arts program students, fiesta games in the gym, a book fair in the library and artwork by the Book Fair Crew. There was a free book give-a-away and free door prizes. Displays also included: displays by Mrs. Leach’s art classes including Day of the Dead masks and Mexican flags; windmills and water treatment displays from Mr. Jordan’s science students; the Native American displays made by fifth grade students of Mrs. Gallagher and Mrs. Faldowski; Satchell Paige projects by students of Mrs. Gordon, Gallagher and Faldowski; a Spanish theme display by students of Mrs. Witchey and Mrs. McConnell; a study island display by Mr. Fisher; a math through art display by the students of Mrs. Shilling and Mrs. Plumly; wanted posters for a character form "Bud Not Buddy" by students of Mrs. Lynn; research on Jim Crow Laws Supreme Court ruling Plessey versus Ferguson from "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry"; Iditarod on sled dog race preparation for argumentative essay; Museum of Ohio History display in Mrs. Murphy’s classroom; endangered species project and illness project in Mr. Allen’s room and mythology research display in Mrs. Leach’s room.
