“5 Loaves Food Ministry”, an outreach ministry of the First Christian Church of Barnesville, is announcing the next scheduled food give away on Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the basement of the church. There will also be a free meal at 12 noon.
The ministry serves those in need in the Barnesville Area school district. A proper ID is required and only one give away to a household.
The ministry is based on scripture found in Matthew 14:19 “And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.”
The ministry’s mission statement says “The mission of 5 Loaves Food Ministry is to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing food to the hungry and needy. It is our conviction that those who receive food will be strengthened both physically and spiritually. In all situations, the loving and compassionate character of Jesus is to be as much a part of our mission as the tangible food that we give!”
