Library introduces adopt-an-item program

With a budget cut of 31%, Barnesville Library has had to do many things to cut back on all expenses.

A new program called Adopt-an Item has been devised to help with the purchase of new material for the library. Patrons and friends may "adopt" a book, a book on CD, a magazine subscription, a DVD or music CD for the library.

As we purchase new items a list will be at the circulation desk to help you with your selection.

Only these items are up for adoption and your purchase will help with our next order.

The library will place a book plate on each item with the donors name.

As we continue to keep the library as near normal as possible, we are still searching for ways to help with the everyday running of your library. No library in Ohio saw this large of a percentage in cuts coming. It was devastating to all Ohio libraries. We are open to suggestions and thankful for your support.
