The Buckeye Buckmasters recently made donations to two local organizations to assist with their programs. A $300 donation was presented to the Barnesville Fire Department to help with their annual kids fishing derby to be held on May 23, 2009 at the Barnesville Park Lake from 9 am until 12 noon. The tournament is for children age 15 and under and admission is free. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided but contestants are asked to bring their own bait.

The Buckmasters Chapter also purchased a Do It All Outdoors Double Trap Thrower for the Belmont County 4-H Shooting Sports Club. The clay target thrower can be set up stationary and is also capable of being mounted to a truck hitch receiver making it handy for off-site shooting. It will be used by the 4-H Shooting Sports Club to train youngsters in the art of trap shooting. For information on joining the youth shooting sports club, contact Doug Schafer at 740-484-1317.

Donations to programs like these are made possible by funds generated at the Buckeye Buckmasters annual charity dinner banquet. The banquet is slated for September 19th this year at the Elks Lodge in Barnesville. For banquet information contact Shane Skinner at 740-425-1677.
