MORRISTOWN -- The Barnesville High boys finished first and Union Local was third while the Lady Jets were second and the Lady Shamrocks fourth in the annual Gloria Dawes Invitational hosted by Union Local High on Friday.

Barnesville's boys finished with 150 points to easily outdistance runner-up Harrison Central's 109 points. Union Local (84) was third followed by Shenandoah (77), Shadyside (71), Bridgeport (17) and Wheeling Central (14).

In the girls' meet, Shadyside took the title with 106 points to edge past runner-up Union Local's 100. Shenandoah (92) was third followed by Barnesville (67), Wheeling Central (54), Harrison Central (38), Bishop Donahue (30) and Bridgeport (27).

Top efforts for the Barnesville boys includded Kohl Campbell, first in the 110 hurdles (16.36) and second in the 300 hurdles (42.08); Jordan Graham, first in shot put (41-2.5) and fourth in discus (125-3); and Matthew Burkhart, first in the 400 (51.78).

Other individual top four finishes for BHS included Sam Wehr, second in the 3200 (11:02.91) and third in the 1600 (5:01.29); Justin Lucas, second in the high jump (5-6) and fourth in the 400 (57.51); Caide Bunfill, second in the long jump (20-1.25); Hunter Graham, third in the high jump (5-4) and fourth in the 100 (12.14); Tannor Burkhart, second in the 110 hurdles (17.77) and second in the 300 hurdles (43.73); and Cole Meyers, fourth in the 800 (2:14.27).

The 'Rocks prevailed in two relays - the 4x200 (T. Burkhart, Stephens, M. Burkhart, Bunfill) in 1:33.61 and the 4x400 (Stephens, Bunfill, Campbell, M. Burkhart) in 3:36.07 - and were second in the 4x100 (Royce Hall, Kane Stephens, Trey Ciroli, Graham) in 46.28 and the 4x800 (M. Burkhart, Lucas Rogers, George, Meyers) in 8:49.8.

Individual top four performances for the Barnesville girls were Mya McEndree, second in 3200 (13:07.2); Kassie Steele, second in pole vault (8-2) and fourth in 100 hurdles (19.57); Madison Sellers, second in high jump (4-8); Blake Castello, third in pole vault (5-6); and Samantha Drake, second in shot put (31-5).

The Lady Shamrocks were third in the 4x800 relay (Taylor Clemons, Taylor Wolford, Riley Helmick, Hannah Swallie) in 14:07.32.

Top efforts for the Union Local girls were Hannah Kemp, first in the 800 (2:37.05) and second in the 1600 (5:59.5); and Alison Loase, first in the pole vault (9-6).

Other individuals in the top four were Sutherlynd Butler, second in the 800 (2:42.06) and fourth in the high jump (4-6); Hannah May, fourth in the 100 (14.14); Mackenzie McGary, fourth in the 200 (29.3) and fourth in the 400 (1:08.35); and Megan Bateman, fourth in the 1600 (6:24.92) and fourth in the 3200 (13:49.03)

In relays, the Lady Jets were first in the 4x400 (McGary, Briann Bumgardner, Butler, Kemp) in 4:39.77; first in the 4x800 (Bateman, McGary, Butler, Kemp) in 10:56.71; second in the 4x100 (Savanna Mayhugh, Ellie Johnen, May, Alli Underwood) in 58.1; and third in the 4x200 (May, Johnen, Mayhugh, Bumgardner) in 2:00.55.

For the UL boys, Luke Menges took first place in the 100 (11.5) and 200 (23.57) while other top four finishers included Aaron Prout, second in the 200 (23.93) and 400 (52.64); Sam Russell, third in the 100 (11.76); and Brock Fankhauser, third in the pole vault (9-6).

The UL boys placed in all four relays - first in the 4x100 (Brian McWhorter, Russell, Josh Knox, Menges) in 46.13; second in the 4x200 (Prout, Russell, Jamie Kelich, Menges) in 1:36.61; third in the 4x400 (Bateman, Robbie Milhoan, Kelich, Prout) in 3:51.5; and fourth in the 4x800 (Luke Snyder, Fankhauser, Bateman, Milhoan) in 9:58.61.

NEXT - This week, Barnesville and Union Local will compete in the OVAC Cal Giffin Track Championships at St. Clairsville, with preliminaries slated Monday through Thursday and the finals on Saturday.

BARNESVILLE - Host Barnesville High swept a quad meet on Tuesday. The Lady Shamrocks scored 107.5 points followed by Buckeye Trail (77.5), Shenandoah (62) and Beallsville (1) while in the boys' meet, it was Barnesville with 113.5 points followed by Buckeye Trail (71) and Shenandoah (59.5).

Scoring individual wins for the Lady 'Rocks was Mya McEndree, 1600-meter run (6:07.48), Kassie Steele, 300-meter hurdles (56.61) and the pole vault (8-6) and Samantha Drake, shot put (32-8.5). Also winning for Barnesville were the 4x800-meter relay team (Taylor Clemons, Taylor Wolford, Dani Meyers, Hannah Swallie) in 12:08.98) and the 4x100-meter shuttle hurdle relay (Heaven Farnsworth, Harlie Stewart, Steele, Clemons) in 1:20.59.

Claiming individual wins for the Barnesville boys were Caide Bunfill, 200-meter dash (23.36), Matthew Burkhart, 800-meter run (2:14.48), Cole Meyers, 1600-meter run (5:04), Sam Wehr, 3200-meter run (11:12), Tannor Burkhart, 110-meter hurdles (17.86), Justin Lucas, high jump (5-10) and Jordan Graham, shot put (40-8.5).

Also turning in winning times for the 'Rocks were the 4x200-meter relay (Tannor Burkhart, Kane Stephens, Matthew Burkhart, Bunfill) in 1:33.6, the 4x800-meter relay (Ryan Crum, Hunter George, Lucas, John Crum) in 9:45.84 and the 4x110-meter shuttle hurdle relay (Butch Holskey, Tannor Burkhart, Royce Hall, Kohl Campbell) in 1:04.22.
