BARNESVILLE -- Visiting Martins Ferry High rallied for a five-run seventh inning to slip past host, Barnesville High, 7-4 in baseball action on Monday.

The two teams entered the seventh inning deadlocked at two apiece, when the Purple Riders tallied five runs to escape with the win.

Gaetan Sinisgalli suffered the loss on the mound for the Shamrocks (6-4) fanning six and walking three in six innings of work while Cade Lloyd earned the win for the Purple Riders with two Ks and five free passes in a complete-game effort.

Pacing the 'Rocks' offense was Brady Treherne with a pair of base hits and an RBI while Nathan Clark and Seth Gordon chipped in with RBI-singles.

Corey Miklas enjoyed a solid day at the plate for Martins Ferry (3-6) with four singles and two RBIs while Jake Probst added a double, single and two RBIs in the win.

MARTINS FERRY -- A late-game rally by visiting Barnesville High lifted it past Martins Ferry High, 4-3 in baseball action on Wednesday.

The Shamrocks trailed 3-1 entering the seventh inning when they tallied three runs to escape with the win.

"We have been in tight games all year," said Barnesville coach D.J Butler. "We have battled in every game and it was nice to see it pay off tonight."

Nathan Clark tossed five innings for the 'Rocks with six Ks and two walks followed by, Zach Thompson who entered in the sixth inning and won the decision while Kyle Anderson struck out 10 for Martins Ferry with a no decision.

Cade Hannahs, Zane Huntsman and Brady Treherne led the way for Barnesville with two base hits each with Treherne adding a pair of RBIs.

Barnesville 14, Shadyside 6

BELLAIRE --Barnesville High picked up a pair of wins on Friday, defeating Bellaire by a 9-5 score and then finishing a suspended game with Shadyside and posting a 14-6 victory.

Zane Huntsman earned the pitching win against Bellaire, striking out three and walking one before Zane Thompson pitched the final two innings, also fanning one and walking one, to earn a save.

Cade Hannahs topped the 'Rocks with a double and three singles. Gaetan Sinisgalli had two singles and three RBI and Jared Kernen had two singles and an RBI.

For Bellaire, Cole Porter collected three singles and an RBI.

Against Shadyside, Kaelan and Cade Hannahs combined on the mound for the 'Rocks, striking out three and walking three.

Nathan Clark led the BHS hitters with three singles and three RBI while Kaelan Hannahs had two singles and three RBI.

Billy Johnson topped Shadyside with three singles while Anthony Coggins and Dalton Palmer each had two singles, with Palmer driving in two runs.

BARNESVILLE -- On Saturday afternoon host Barnesville High rolled to a perfect 2-0 mark to claim the Shamrock Diamond Invitational title over Monroe Central and Buckeye Local at Barnesville Memorial Park.

"Today was a good day for us," Barnesville coach D.J. Butler explained. "It was really nice to pick up a pair of OVAC games with the deadline coming up. We played some good baseball today."

The 'Rocks opened the action with a 10-0 blanking of Monroe Central in game one with freshman Jagger Jefferies getting the win to improve his season mark to 3-1. Jefferies finished his day with five Ks and no walks.

Zanes Huntsman led the offense with a double, two singles while Jarrod Kernen added a triple, single with an RBI. Brady Treherne and Nathan Clark each added a pair of singles and Seth Gordon ripped a triple.

Game two of the annual event it was Buckeye Local topping Monroe Central 15-1.

In the championship game the 'Rocks picked up a 4-0 victory behind the solid pitching of Gaetan Sinisgalli to capture the title.

Sinisgalli racked up 10 strikeouts with just two walks to improve his season pitching mark to 2-1.

Kaelan Hannahs led the Barnesville attack with a pair of basehits with an RBI, with Zanes Huntsman stroking an RBI double and Gordon banging out another three-bagger.

With the pair of wins, Barnesville improves to 11-4 on the season.
