BELLAIRE - The Barnesville High track team participated in the Bellaire Early Bird meet with the boys placing sixth and girls finishing 12th on Saturday.
At the top of the boy’s rankings was Columbus DeSales with 104 points followed by Steubenville Central (74), Bellaire (68), Steubenville (62), Martins Ferry (57), Barnesville (46), Shadyside (43), Magnolia (38), Harrison Central (33), Indian Creek (7), John Marshall (4) and Linsly (2).
Leading the way for the Shamrocks was Matthew Burkhart placing first in the 400M (52.30) followed by Kohl Campbell with a third place finish in the 300M IH (43.35) and a fifth place finish in the 110M HH (16.53).
Other placers for the ‘Rocks include Kane Stephens, who placed third in the 200M (23.86), Caden Lake, who placed fourth in the pole vault (8-06) followed closely by teammate Bailey Burkhart who finished fifth in the pole vault (7-06) and fifth place finishes from Tannor Burkhart in the 300M IH (46.30) and Jordan Graham in discus (114-06).
The Shamrocks also finished third in shuttles (1:12.12), fourth in the 4x400 (3:45.55) and sixth 4x800 (9:12.64).
For the girls, Magnolia earned the top spot with 89 points followed by Indian Creek (72), Steubenville (69), Martins Ferry (63), Columbus DeSales (55), Bellaire (52), John Marshall (48), Linsly (38), Steubenville Central (16), Bishop Donahue (14), River (13), Barnesville (12), Shadyside (11) and Harrison Central (4).
The lone individual placer for the Lady ‘Rocks was Kassie Steele who earned a first place finish in the pole vault (7-06) while the 4x800 team finished fifth with a final time of 12:09.00.
