Lady Shamrocks post victory over Steubenville Catholic

Host Barnesville High mounted furious, fourth period comeback to earn an OVAC Consolation game victory on Monday evening, besting Steubenville Catholic by a 43-37 margin.

Trailing 34-25 heading into the final eight minutes, the Lady Shamrocks delivered an 18-3 “beat-down” to the guests to secure the win.

Barnesville triumphed despite having no players in double figures. Sophomore Paige Huntsman finished with nine to lead the winners.

The Lady ‘Rocks (7-15) made 17 field goals, but connected for four bonus goals. The were also a dismal 5-of-18 from the line.

Steubenville Catholic was held to 15 successful action shots and 5-for-10 free throws.

NEXT— Barnesville plays St. John Central in the Division IV Sectional at Union Local High on Saturday at 8 p.m.
