OUE men lose to OSU Newark

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Ohio University Eastern hosted division rival OSU Newark Sunday afternoon for the Eastern Conference Championship. The Titans came out of the gates on fire missing only one shot to take an early 22-9 lead. The Green and White chipped away to take a 38-37 halftime advantage. With the momentum still in the Panthers' court ,they were able to stretch the lead to 10 (56-46) with just over 15 minutes remaining. After a timeout the visitors reclaimed control of the game to pull away for a hard fought 95-83. Clutch free throws down the stretch sealed the deal and the Eastern Division Championship for OSU Newark. OUE was lead by Shadyside product Nick Schuetz who fired in 30 points. Union Local alum Jordan Barbina scored 19 points while grabbing a team high 8 rebounds and fellow teammates Devin Ward and D'Aundrea Anderson scored 15 and 10 points respectively to finish out the double figure scorers. With the loss, The Panthers fell to 16-6 on the season and 10-5 in the conference.
