OUE women fall short to top ranked Penn State Beaver

BEAVER, Pa. – The Lady Panthers battled the #1 ranked team in the latest USCAA poll down to the wire before falling short to the hosts 71 – 66.

OUE was led by Monroe Central’s Alex Kuhn with 17 points and four assists. Shadyside’s Kelsey Holloway chipped in with 14 markers and four assists. Union Local’s Alexus Davis added 12 points and five rebounds and Shaydside’s Sarah Neavin finished with 10 points and five boards.

Rebounding proved to be the difference in the game as the tall and talented Lions outrebounded OUE by a whopping 47-25 margin. Six-foot, two” Cassandra Flowers was dominant in the paint for Penn State Beaver with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

OUE led 31-30 at the half. PSB improved to 11-3 while OUE fell to 12-3 with the loss.

The Lady Panthers return home on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. ORCC battle with rival OU Zanesville.
