Shenandoah 66, Beallsville 45

BEALLSVILLE — Two strong middle quarters propelled the visiting Shenandoah Zeps to a 66-45 non-conference win over the Beallsville Blue Devils on Tuesday.

With Shenandoah clinging to a 19-16 lead following the initial quarter, the Zeps recorded a 19-8 edge the second round to take a 38-24 lead to the locker room at the halftime intermission.

The Zeps (3-4) carried the momentum into the third frame, posting a 13-9 scoring advantage for a 51-33 lead going to the final eight minutes. Beallsville rebounded and made the fourth stanza closer with Shenandoah still managing a 15-12 difference to provide the 66-45 final.

Shenandoah shot a sizzling 51 percent from the field (23-of-45) and added 12-of-17 from the foul line. Brandon Farnsworth paced the Zeps’ scorers with 22 points followed by Danny Neuhart with 16 and James Luyster with 14 markers. Brett Bond chipped in with seven points.

Beallsville (2-4) managed just 17-of-50 from the floor for 34 percent and tacked on 6-of-8 from the charity line. Teryn Jarrett led the Blue Devils with 24 points followed by Logan Nippert with six.

The Zeps posted a 32-22 rebounding advantage led by Luyster with eight, while Farnsworth and Reed added six boards each. Jarrett also paced the Devils on the glass with seven rebounds.
