OUE men net fifth straight win

ORVILLE — The men’s basketball team at Ohio University Eastern raised their record to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in the conference, with an impressive 100-87 road victory against the perennially tough Akron-Wayne. Wheeling Park’s Djhae Jackson continued his torrid play with 33 points, eight assists and five steals. Another Park product, Marquez O’Neil had 19 points and 12 rebounds. Bellaire’s Devin Ward scored 19 points and had a fine floor game with four assists and three steals. Nick Schuetz of Shadyside contributed 15 points and Wheeling Park’s NaKwuan Phillips added 11 rebounds. The Panthers are finally back at home this Saturday as they host Ohio University Chillicothe. Tip off is set for 3 p.m. following the women’s game.
