OUE trips up Akron Wayne 78-62

The Panthers shook off a sluggish start with a 12-0 run at the end of the first half to lead 45-33 at intermission. OUE extended their halftime lead to 55-33 at the 16 minute mark to put the game away early. Monroe Central freshman Alex Kuhn led the way with 20 points and 5 assists. Barnesville’s Allie Doan finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Beallsville’s Savannah Burke, who was playing in her first game since late December due to injury, scored 12 points and pulled down 5 rebounds. Shadyside’s Kelsey Holloway and Bridgeport’s Rachel Benda scored 10 points each.

OUE honored seniors Savannah Burke, Allie Doan, and Kristina Velkovich prior to the game. With the victory, the Panthers are now 17-5 on the season.
