Friday, July 21

6:52 p.m. an anonymous caller reported a couple arguing over custody at Barnesville Park near the baseball field. Dispatcher could see the couple on camera and see that the male was carrying a car seat. No altercation was witnessed.

8:25 p.m., male caller reported giving money to a man at the park and ride that morning and then seeing him parked there again with the vehicle running 12 hours later.

Saturday, July 22

1:09 p.m., attempt to serve warrant at Warren Avenue residence. One female taken into custody.

1:30 p.m., attempt to serve warrant at residence in alley behind East Main Street. No contact was made.

3:13 p.m., out on Harris Road with fire department in reference to a vehicle fire.

7:26 p.m., two-car accident with property damage, but no injuries, reported on East Main Street.

Sunday, July 23

5:12 p.m., anonymous caller in reference to suspicious activity at a Westview Court residence.

6:01 p.m., male caller reported smoke alarms going off in a vacant home nearby.

6:55 p.m., officer advised he was told there was flooding on Mt. Olivett Road.

7:33 p.m., North Lincoln Avenue caller reported water and sewer backup in his basement and backyard. Laws Street caller reported gravel in street from rain. South Chestnut Street business caller reported a hole in the parking lot. Village Operations Manager was advised of calls. At 7:41 p.m., a Hunts Avenue resident reported that their basement wall fell in and the water needed to be turned off. Township crews were coming to help clean up Dump Road when they were done elsewhere.

8:40 p.m., traffic stop on East Pike Street. Plate could not be read. VIN came back as South Carolina.

9:11 p.m., 911 call from a female advising that a male caller was suicidal. Squad responded. Male answered phone and said the female was upset. The female wanted an officer to check on her son.

Monday, July 24

5:16 a.m., officer investigated complaint of dog bite.

8:40 a.m., traffic stop on Railroad Street. Warning given for speed.

8:56 a.m., complaint of gas company trucks speeding up and down Railroad Street.

9:05 a.m., Columbia Gas reported that they had Mulberry, Watt and Center-Lincoln streets/avenue shut down due to repair of gas line.

11:35 p.m., female caller reported that there was a large garbage bag in the middle of West Main Street in front of her house.

11:47 a.m., traffic stop on East Main Street. Warning given for yield of right of way and left of center.

12:48 p.m., report of dog bite on Broadway Street to an employee picking up garbage from a residence. Victim was taken to Urgent Care in St. Clairsville.

1:52 p.m., male caller reported a large boulder next to the road on I-70 East. Ohio State Patrol was advised and stated they had received numerous calls regarding the boulder.

2:28 p.m., Somerton resident requested and officer. She was advised to contact the Belmont County Sheriff's Office.

3:06 p.m., people on station regarding dog bite. Statement taken.

3:41 p.m., officer at North Gardner Street residence to sere citation.

3:52 p.m., female caller reported seeing a 15 month old child running across Bond Avenue by himself with no parents or adults in the area.

Tuesday, July 25

8:07 a.m., disabled truck at Crestview Cemetery. Officer could see where the truck was driven over the bank and through the cemetery, coming close to, but not striking headstones. Vehicle was towed and the owner was informed. She was informed that it had to be removed due to a funeral service.

1:43 p.m., vehicle lock out on North Arch Street.

3:28 p.m., Moundsville PD called requesting that a resident whose ID card was found be notified.

3:42 p.m., female on station reported losing her wallet in Pennsylvania. She stated she contacted the agency where she lost it and they advised her to file a report at the Barnesville station.

Wednesday, July 26

2:10 p.m., North Chestnut Street caller reported hearing a mother screaming at her kids and the kids crying and yelling. Caller said she could hear the woman slapping her children. Officer spoke to the woman and her two children who said they were having an argument over getting their hair done.

10:30 p.m., report of argument between two people in East Main Street apartment.

10:48 p.m., Tacoma resident reported that a white truck was parked on his property along the road since early that morning.

Thursday, July 27

12:14 a.m., report of a scam call saying a business owner owed $900 in unpaid bills and their electricity was going to be shut off if they didn't go to CVS and wire money. The caller was advised to ignore all future calls and not give out any personal/account information. The number for the FTC to report a scam was given to the caller.

1:15 p.m., another report of scam calls, using a 425 number. Caller was advised that this was call spoofing and there was no way to track down the company or make them stop using call spoofing.

1:27 p.m., OSP transferred a call regarding erratic driving on North 800 heading into Barnesville. License plate came back to a person with a suspended license for failure to reinstate and warrants out of BSCO and Monroe County SO. Van was found parked in front of a Main Street business and officer spoke with driver.
