BELMONT COUNTY -- The Interstate 70 eastbound off-ramp at Exit 218 will be closed four hours early Friday morning, July 7, for bridge repairs over Mall Road as part of the ongoing, $13 million, 4 ° mile upgrade project that began last year.
The ramp will be closed from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., while ODOT's contractor, Lash Paving Inc., from Colerain, Ohio, pours an overlay on the bridge. Traffic will be detoured on I-70 eastbound to Exit 220 (CR 214), then I-70 westbound back to Exit 218.
Construction on the project -- that stretches from almost a mile west of Mall Road to nearly four miles east of Mall Road -- included pavement repairs, resurfacing, median barrier replacement, new guardrail, new lighting, and bridge repairs on the I-70 bridges over Mall Road.
The completion date for the project is October 15, 2017.
