Although no arrests have been made, Barnesville police have three "persons of interest" following a shooting incident on Franklin Street Tuesday night, May 16 that injured two people.
Neither the names of the people of interest nor the victims have been released by authorities.
The victims were reportedly flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh, Pa., hospital after being stabilized at Barnesville Hospital. They were transported to the local hospital by Barnesville EMS crews.
Barnesville Police Chief David Norris said the case is still under investigation.
"No arrests have been made, but we do have three people of interest in connection with the shooting."
According to reports, the shootings occurred at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday.
A Barnesville police officer reportedly heard the shots being fired while on routine patrol and approached the scene on foot. Once at the scene, he discovered the two shooting victims and called for medical personnel.
Police have not released how many times each victim was shot.
A male person of interest was detained a short time later, but was eventually released by officers.
Police had since identified two additional persons of interest during their investigation.
