Hoot N' Holler this Saturday

The Barnesville High School Future Farmers of America Chapter will be hosting their annual Hoot N' Holler Community Fun Day on Saturday, May 20 at Barnesville Memorial Park.

Events will start at 10 a.m. and wrap up at 10 p.m. and will include tractor cruise, petting zoo (until 8 p.m.), car show (registration from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., car show from 12-4 p.m. and awards at 5 p.m.), pedal pull, dunk tank (11 a.m. - 5 p.m.), Ag Olympics (2 p.m.), fishing tournament (3-6 p.m. at the Rotary Park Lake), BHS Class of 2018 hog roast (12-3 p.m. at Mother's Club Shelter), inflatables(4-8 p.m. by Patriot Party Company) and more.

The Tractor Cruise will begin and registration will start at 7:30 a.m. To register it will cost $10, and all participants will receive a meal. It will begin at the Barnesville High School and end at the park. Tom Winland will be leading this cruise. All tractors are welcome. The Barnesville Community Alumni Band will open the day with the National Anthem and flag raising by the American Legion. Brother Randall & Friends Bluegrass Band will perform from 6-7 p.m. The FFA greenhouse class will have a flower sale. To end the day there will be a square dance by Deep Down Country from 7-10 p.m. Concessions will be provided by Cowgirl Country Fixin's (Jody Hunter) and Shamrock Tropical Sno. There will be a Cow Patty Bingo at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from any FFA member. Grand prize is $500. There will be fact painting, vendor displays and t-shirt sales.

Rotary Club spaghetti dinner May 18

The Barnesville Rotary Club Annual Spaghetti Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, May 18. from 3--7 p.m. at the Barnesville First United Methodist Church, (Edith Nims Fellowship Hall), 123 W. Church St., Barnesville, OH 43713. Tickets can be purchased from any Rotary Club member or at the door. Carry out available. Proceeds benefit local Rotary Club projects.

Barnesville Downtown Spring Cleanup Day

The Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Barnesville Downtown Spring Clean-up Day on Thursday, May 18 at 5 p.m. Business/building owners are encouraged to spruce up their storefronts by picking up debris, sweeping sidewalks and cleaning up their storefronts. Please bring your own supplies such as gloves, brooms, buckets, cleaner, towels. etc. Let's make our downtown beautiful and Spring Clean together.

Early deadline

Due to the observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, the deadline for news items for the Wednesday, May 31 edition will be Thursday, May 25 at noon. The advertising deadline will remain Wednesday, May 24 at noon. The Enterprise office will be closed on May 29.

Barnesville Fire and EMS will be offering a FREE blood pressure/glucose check for anyone in our local coverage area.

Checks will be held at the fire station on the first Saturday of each month rom 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
