Barnesville man dies in crash on SR 148

ARMSTRONG MILLS — Icy road conditions were a factor in three-vehicle crash early Thursday in Belmont County that killed a Barnesville man. According to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s St. Clairsville post, 38-year-old Kevin Schnegg of Barnesville was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robert Kysor, 57, of Moundsville, in another vehicle was injured and transported by the Beallsville Emergency Squad to Wheeling Medical Park, where he was treated and released. A woman in the third vehicle, 21-year-old Alexis Kanzigg of Beallsville, reported that she was injured but was not transported.

According to the report, the crash happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on State Route 148 near milepost 15 (Armstrong Mills). According to the report Schnegg lost control of his 1997 Toyota Avalon when he encountered black ice on the road. His vehicle went from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane. Kysor was driving west in a 2005 Dodge Dakota when Schnegg’s car collided with his. Kanzigg, who was driving behind Kysor in a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, struck Kysor’s vehicle after the first collision.
