There is no other way to walk to town but inside out and upside down. So the characters in "Silly Sally" believe. The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library are not asking visitors to come to town inside out and upside down, but they are inviting you to join them at the Barnesville Memorial Park for a delightful three hours of story book characters coming to life. "Five Little Monkeys" washing the car and hanging from the trees will be another sight to invade the park as the Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library prepares for their fourth "Storybook Park".
This years' program will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Watch as the park comes alive with decorations prepared by Belmont Correctional Institution inmates. There will be frogs, beetles and butterflies as the "Icky Sticky Frog" searches for delights for his dinner. Honey Bear loves everyone and everything, especially honey and his friends and his wonderful cave in "Sweet Dreams Honey Bear". Colors, colors and more colors keep decorating the dog in "Dogs Colorful Day".
Joining in the fun will be three costumed characters, Corduroy, Curious George and Froggie, joined by several clowns as they too visit the park.
Barnesville Library is truly delighted to welcome back longtime resident, Sam Shuman. Sam will be leading the sing-a-long, "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" and other songs special to him. Sam performed at the very first Storybook Park.
Mark your calendar and plan to visit the magical park on Saturday, Oct. 2 to see books take on a new dimension. Join the many volunteers and the library staff for a day of family fun.
In case of rain the event will be held at the Barnesville Elementary gym.
