State Route 147 to be closed in Belmont

State Route 147 to be closed in Belmont for two culvert replacements New Philadelphia, Ohio - State Route 147 will be closed to traffic this week for the replacement of two culverts in the village of Belmont, Belmont County. The roadway will be closed for six days total (beginning Aug. 17) - three days for each culvert. Beginning at the intersection of SR 147 and SR 800 in Barnesville, traffic will be detoured north on SR 800 to Interstate 70 east to the SR 149 Interchange, then south on SR 149 back to SR 147, and reverse. Also included in this $173,793 project is a culvert replacement on SR 800 just north of Hendrysburg and one on SR 799 at Clendening Lake in Harrison County. SR 800 will not be closed during this work anticipated for September. SR 799 will be closed for two days but is not expected to take place until this winter. ODOT's contractor for this project is Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Powhatan Point, Ohio, and the completion date is May 31, 2011.
