Lightning struck and imploded chimney

Lightning struck and imploded the chimney of a house on East Main Street in Barnesville on Tuesday, June 22.

At 5:45 a.m., the Barnesville Police Department received a report of a possible structure fire at the East Main Street house. The responding officer advised there was no visible fire, but requested the fire department due to what was believed to be a lightning strike.

Residents Pandora and Tim Miller and their baby were fine, but their chimney is a total loss.
