The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library would like to congratulate all the area readers who participated in "Building a Better World" this summer. The Summer Reading Program continues to be a huge success year in and year out thanks to the children and to the dedicated parents, grandparents and caregivers. This year we saw 198 kids who actively participated in the program and read nearly 9,000 books. The Children's Department provided storytimes, toddlertimes, little tykes, various presenters/entertainers and special programs. The Library would also like to acknowledge the young adult readers who participated in the Y.A. program.

Highlights from the summer included: Water Balloon the Librarians, Ice Cream Party, Build a Better World Day, Pop Art Workshop with Michael Albert, Build Kindness with Daniel Caron, Roller Coaster Building and of course our final parties: a family pool party held at the Barnesville Park Pool, while the young adult kids enjoyed a bowling party at Chestnut Lanes.

In addition, the library offered an Adult Summer Reading Program with activities and special programs.
