Sam Leach of Barnesville has been inducted into the Ohio Delta chapter of the Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society. Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885 to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges. Tau Beta Pi chooses only a select few students from the top 8% of the entire junior engineering class and the top 5% of the senior class.
Sam attends Ohio University Athens, majors in Mechanical Engineering and will be inducted into the society Monday, April 17, 2017. He is a 2016 graduate of the Barnesville High School. He is the son of Dan and Melissa Leach and the grandson of Dale Leach and Gerard and Barbara Gallagher.
