Volunteers are shown stuffing lunch sacks to distribute to children in Barnesville and Bethesda as part of the Summer Lunch Program which began at the end of May. Lunches are also distributed in Belmont. That week 200 lunches were provided per day (Monday through Friday) and the following week 250 were expected to be provided per day. This past year they provided over 10,000 lunches to children in the communities of Barnesville, Bethesda, and Belmont. Volunteers are needed at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 230 W. Main St., Barnesville, Monday - Friday from 9:30-11 a.m. Also needed are monetary donations, as well as donations of fruit cups, fruit snacks, cracker packs, and applesauce.
