Integrative Medicine, a combination of conventional medicine with complementary and alternative medicine, emphasizes wellness and healing of the entire person as primary goals.  Care is coordinated between a primary care physician and the integrative medicine physician.
On Saturday, November 16, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Classroom on the 2nd Floor, Barnesville Hospital will host Dr. Glen Aukerman as he presents a program on Integrative Medicine.  Dr. Aukerman practices Family Medicine at St. Rita’s Family Medicine in Lima, Ohio
Prior to opening a Family Medicine practice in Lima, Ohio in July 2013, Dr. Aukerman was a tenured Professor of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University and Medical Director for the University’s Center for Integrative Medicine.  He was one of four OSU Family Medicine physicians named to Best Doctors in America in 2003-2004.  He has served as chief medical officer at the National Practitioner Data Bank.  Dr. Aukerman is past president of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  His book, Better Health in 120 Days explains his personalized nutritional plan designed to restore the way genes work.
