House numbering required Village of Barnesville residents are being reminded of the need to post their house number in a visible location and of sufficient size as to be easily seen from the street. Numbering of structures is required by the Codified Ordinance of the Village of Barnesville chapter 1371 with the power to regulate by the Ohio Revised Code 715.26. A $50 per day penalty may be imposed for the lack of posting. Most importantly, house numbering helps local safety forces such as the fire department, police department and emergency medical services. These numbers assist the departments in locating residences when emergencies arise. House numbering could save extremely valuable minutes in the event of a serious health and safety emergency. Again, the village reminds residents of this need for the protection and benefit of all residents. Bethesda VFW 9712 Ladies Aux.
