Blood drive Aug. 9 at Elks

The American Red Cross and Barnesville High School will be sponsoring a Blood Drive Monday, Aug. 9 from noon - 6 p.m. at the Barnesville Elks on North Chestnut Street. The goal for Monday's drive is 30 units of blood. The Blood Drive is the first of three drives sponsored annually by the high school. The second drive will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at the High School Gymnasium from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.. The goal for the second drive is 20 units of blood. The third drive is the annual "Blood Bash" scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2011 in the High School Gym. The "Blood Bash" is the second largest blood drive in the country sponsored by a high school. The goal this year is 525 units of blood. The high school can earn up to $3,000 in scholarship money for our students by reaching the goals of each drive. Your continued support is greatly appreciated in this worthy cause to help others.
