Member of 5-D's Plus delight in having their fans guess what the "D" stands for. One thing certain is their music is danceable. There is a combined total of more than 250 years of musical experience in the group and they have played through the years for clubs, dances, festivals, etc.
In 1976, when Adam Roe was in the 8th grade, he taught himself to play drums for square dance bands He learned to play guitar in the 1980s as well as doing vocals with groups. In the last five years he has ventured into single act performances for clubs, festivals, churches, nursing homes and parties. Roe enjoys involving his audience with some of his songs and a fun time is had by all.
Many of the students in the Barnesville High School Art Department have participated and won awards as several shows in the Ohio Valley as well as the Governor's State and Regional Show. Other exhibits include the Belmont County High School Show at the mall and the Barnesville High School annual show.
The pottery pieces have been outstanding from this past year's crop of young artists. Our community is proud of them and their 20-year veteran art instructor, Luke Johnson, who earned his BA Degree in Art Education with K-12 certification from Kent State University.
