ARCHBOLD -- Sauder Village will be bustling with activity on August 5 and 6 as guests from throughout the Midwest gather for the 34th annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show and Sale in Founder's Hall. With doll and teddy bear exhibitors, doll themed workshops, doll appraisals, special activities for kids and many unique experiences in the Historic Village - there will be plenty for guests to enjoy throughout this fun-filled weekend!

Through the years the Sauder Village Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale has maintained a reputation for its impressive scope of quality collectibles. For the 34th Annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show, Founder's Hall will be filled with vendors showcasing their treasured dolls and bears. At this always-popular show guests can shop and enjoy an excellent variety of high-quality items including antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears, and modern collectibles. Also available will be accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books and patterns. This is an exciting opportunity to view an unusually extensive assortment of quality merchandise and meet other doll collectors who share the same passion for quality, craftsmanship and uniqueness.

Again this year, special workshops and lectures are being held as part of the doll event. Guest artists Stephanie S. Tackett and Cindy McGuire will be offering creative and inspiring workshops on Friday, August 4. Spaces are still available in the doll painting and the stuffed mohair pig class. Reservations are also being accepted for the Dinner Lecture to be held on Saturday evening at the Barn Restaurant. Guest speakers Sharon Napier and Michael Wolk-Laniewski will present a program about Collecting Antique & Vintage Dolls. New this year the Ann Arbor Doll Collectors Club will be offering a free craft activity for children as well as a Doll Photo Booth. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite doll to "dress up" and pose their doll for a picture! A variety of doll-themed activities are also taking place in the Historic Village. Throughout the day on Saturday, August 5 children make yarn dolls, clothespin dolls, wooden bead dolls and popsicle-stick ballerina dolls!

On Sunday, August 6 at 11 a.m. guests are invited to watch a special presentation that will be made by Good Bears of the World to the Wauseon Fire Deparment. An international charity that gives teddy bears to children in trauma situations and the lonely elderly, Good Bears of the World will be donating teddy bears to this local hospital.

Many other events are planned yet this summer at Sauder Village including a new "Harry Potter Days" event on August 11 and 12, the 21st Annual Rug Hooking Week to be held August 14 19 and the Barbershop Concert on August 26.

The Doll Show and Sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 5 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 6. There is a "Show-Only" admission of $8, which must be purchased in Founder's Hall.

Historic Sauder Village is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and each Sunday afternoon from noon-4:00 p.m. The Historic Village is closed on Mondays, except holidays. Admission is $17.00 for adults and $11.00 for students ages 6-16. Children 5 and under are always free with family and Sauder Village members receive free admission to the Historic Village for an entire year. Senior, Military and AAA discounts are also available. And again this year, children 16 and under are free every Sunday this season!
