Weyer Chapter Order of Eastern Star meets March 20
Weyer Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star of Centerville will meet on Thursday, March 20 at the Masonic Hall in Centerville. Chapter meetings will now be held the third Thursday of each month. Mock Initiation will be held. Officers are encouraged to wear green. A pasta dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. before the meeting at 7:30. Barnesville Girls Youth Softball Summer League sign ups March 22 and 25
Sign ups for the upcoming girls youth softball summer league will be held on Saturday March 22nd from noon – 2 p.m. and Tuesday March 25th from 6-8 p.m. at the Youth Center. Flushing Garden Club meets March 17
Flushing Garden Club will resume their regular monthly meeting beginning on March 17, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the home of Martha Groves with Mary Betts serving as co-hostess. Eagles Aux. 4252 Coleman’s Fish Fry
The Eagles Auxiliary 4252, 137 E. Main St., will be having a Coleman’s Fish Fry every Friday through Lent beginning at 11 a.m. Cost will be $5 for a fish sandwich and $8 for a fish dinner, including fries and cole slaw. Tack swap and flea market April 26th
A tack swap for all animals, along with a home and farm flea market will be held at the Belmont County Fairgrounds on April 26th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the same day, starting at noon, we will have a chicken dinner followed by a square dance from 7 to 10 p.m. featuring the local group Deep Down Country. Tickets for the chicken dinner are $10 and may be purchased in advance by calling 740-296-0067. Admission to the square dance is $4 at the dance. Individuals and vendors are welcome to participate in the flea market ,and currently plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces are still available. A local tack dealer has already committed to attend the event, along with a greenhouse that will offer hanging baskets and flower flats for sale to the public. Proceeds from the event will be used to make improvements at the Horse Arena at the Belmont County Fairgrounds.
VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2792 serving Lenten dinners
The VFW Ladies Aux. Post 2792 will be serving fish or shrimp dinners with fries and slaw for $7 per dinner every Friday from 5-7 p.m., starting March 7 and ending April 11. An alternate meat dish will be available each week. Everyone is welcome. Carry out is available by calling 425-9141.

Painting with a Purpose fund raiser March 28 and 29

Items welcome for Jumble Sale
Wheeling Civic Garden Center, Oglebay Park, is requesting donations of items for its annual “Jumble Sale” (an indoor yard sale) which is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 21, 22 and 23. The center would be grateful for donations of jewelry, books, kitchen articles, odd dishes and glasses, games and puzzles, tools, odds and ends. Wayne Townnship Trustees meet first Thursday of each month
The Wayne Township Trustees of Belmont County will hold their monthly meetings the first Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Wayne Township Garage in New Castle, Ohio.

Dancing For A Cause meets each Thursday
Want to have fun, exercise and help local charities and organizations? The Dancing For A Cause group continues to hold classes each Thursday from 6-7 p.m. in the Grange Hall building on Shamrock Drive. Women and men of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to join them. They learn a new dance each week, but also review learned dances.
All money collected is donated to local organizations. The group’s latest donation went to the Tri County Women’s Help Center. Past donations have been made to the Barnesville Elementary School for school sup- plies, a meals on a wheels program, the summer lunch program, the Junior Women’s Club food drive for St. Vincent DePaul, relief efforts for victims of Superstorm Sandy, The Haven, Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library and 3Cs Cancer Support Group and the Somerton United Methodist Church rebuilding fund. WIC walk-in clinic in Bellaire
The Belmont County WIC Program will sponsor walk-in clinics every Thursday in Bellaire only. The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Bellaire WIC office is located in the Case Bank building on the 4th floor, Room 402.
New clients need to bring proof of address proof of income, proof of pregnancy and identification for themselves and newborns. Clients who need recertified will need proof of income and their WIC Folders. The WIC folders are needed for coupon pick-up also. WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that encourages breast-feeding and provides nutrition education to its clients. Women who are pregnant, breast-feeding, infants, and children up to the age of 5 years old qualify. Working families are encouraged to apply. For more information call 740-676-2232.
