OES meeting and speaker
Barnesville Chapter No. 206 Order of the Eastern Star will meet Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the Masonic Lodge. There will be a covered dish dinner at 6:15 p.m. Deanna Kinney of the "I CARE" Program will speak at 6:45 p.m. followed by the regular OES meeting at 7:30 p.m. Our new candidate will receive the degrees of our order at this meeting. All members are urged to attend.
UL Festival of Lights trip
The Union Local School District Board of Education and the Union Local OAPSE membership are pleased to be able to offer free round trip transportation to the beautiful Festival of Lights in Oglebay Park. An evening of fun and joy is guaranteed.
Scheduled pick-up areas and departure times are as follows:
1. Holloway - Post Office at 4:20 p.m.
2. Flushing - Wayne L. Hayes Apt. at 4:30 p.m.
3. Lafferty - Post Office at 4:40 p.m.
4. Morristown - Post Office at 4:50 p.m.
1. Jacobsburg - Post Office at 4:20 p.m.
2. Centerville - Fire Station at 4:30 p.m.
3. Belmont - Post Office at 4:40 p.m.
4. Bethesda - Post Office at 4:45 p.m.
All buses will leave the Union Local Bus Garage parking lot at 5:30 p.m. All children under age 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Woodsfield Christmas Festival
The 4th annual Woodsfield Christmas Festival will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 in Woodsfield, Ohio. Merchants will be participating in a Window Decorating Contest and we will have a Festival of Lights at the City Park and end the day with a parade, Community Open House and Christmas Dinner/Dance.
The fun filled day will start at 8 a.m. with the Breakfast with Santa and continuing with many activities planned throughout the day including, Santa's Workshop, Craft Show at Courthouse, Carriage Rides, Barrel Train Rides, Christmas Character passing out candy canes, specials and refreshments to area businesses, specials at area restaurants, Christmas Caroling, Live Nativity Scene, Parade at 6 p.m. and ending with a Community Open House at the Brown Community Center.
Fresh greens workshop Dec. 3
Wheeling Civic Garden Center, Oglebay Park, will present a workshop entitled Fresh Green Arrangements and Wreaths on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m.
Come join us for this holiday tradition. We will be instructing on how to create fresh noble fir wreaths and mixed pine arrangements. We will adorn with bows, berries, candles, birds, and any other accessory that might brighten your holiday table arrangement or wreath. Your $25 deposit must be paid by Nov. 23 to ensure your spot and available materials. Your total cost may vary according to materials selected. There is a $3 charge for non-members of the center. Airport Authority meeting
The regular meeting of the Belmont County Regional Airport Authority will be held on the first Tuesday of December and each month thereafter on the first Tuesday of each month . The meeting will take place at the Barnesville Water Department at 6 p.m.
Bethesda VFW cinch tournaments
Bethesda VFW will be holding Cinch tournaments on Friday nights beginning at 7 p.m. There will be free food for all players starting at 6:30 p.m. Call Jacki at 740-391-2425 for information.
Nursing Moms' Group

Nursing Moms' Group serves mothers who are, have, and are planning or considering breastfeeding with support and information. Questions are always welcomed which are discussed among experienced mothers and answered by Jean Cooper, co-organizer and Lactation Consultant from East Ohio Regional Hospital.
WIC walk-in clinics
The Belmont County WIC program will sponsor walk-in clinics on Tuesdays in St. Clairsville and on Wednesdays in Bellaire. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Barnesville hours are the second Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ohio Hills Health Services, 110 E. Main St.
New clients need proof of address, proof of income and identification such as a drivers license or a social security card. Crib cards will be accepted for newborns. Clients who need recertified will need proof of income and their WIC folders. Also, a written authorization from a parent/guardian to have a child receive WIC services is needed if a parent/guardian is not with a child at the time of recertification. Belmont County WIC is having open enrollment the months of May and June. WIC is a supplemental nutrition program that encourages breastfeeding and provides education to its clients. Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, infants and children up to the age of five qualify. Working families are encouraged to apply. For more information call 695-0222 or 676-2232.
BBM Rotary meets
The Bethesda-Belmont-Morristown Rotary Club dinner meeting is every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Bethesda Senior Center. The meeting is now being catered by Mark Glass from the Bethesda Market.
