Susan Douglass to Speak at JWCB Luncheon

The Junior Women's Club of Barnesville will host the GFWC-East Ohio River District (EORD)Legislation Day Luncheon on Saturday, March 28. The luncheon will be held at the Barnesville Senior Center. The EORD is honored to welcome guest speaker Sue Douglass, from the Belmont County Department of Development Community Improvement Corporation. Ms. Douglass earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Ohio University and a master of science degree in administration from the University of Dayton. She was instrumental in obtaining grant funding for the rehabilitation of the historic 1828 Blaine Bridge. She was on the steering committee for Greater Ohio, a statewide economic growth initiative she continues to partner with, and was an officer and member of the Ohio National Road Association. She also is the founder and director of the Eastern Ohio Leadership Council, a nonprofit, nonpartisan local group focusing on leadership models and building community connections. A native of Blaine, Ms. Douglass has received many honors, among them the coveted Liberty Bell Award which she received from the Belmont County Bar Association.

Stephanie Rouse, President of EORD Clubs and Peggy Meola, EORD Director of Junior Clubs, will be presenting awards to Clubs who have provided outstanding programs and projects for their respective local communities within the District.
