A tradition at The Watt Center for History & the Arts is the Barnesville Elementary School Art Show featuring the creations of local student artists from Barnesville Elementary School art teacher Jayson Stephen's classes during the school year. If spring showers don't interfere, students walk to The Watt Center to see the show. The public is invited to enjoy the display on April 23rd, Sunday afternoon, from 1 to 3 p.m. The Watt Center (historic office for the Watt Car & Wheel Co.) is located at 511 Watt Avenue, Barnesville, not far from the Depot.

Art classes are also held at The Watt Center. Recent spring classes offered were beginning and intermediate Calligraphy, Pastels, Embossed Copper, Card Making and Acrylic Painting. For more information contact Sharon Hanse at 740-425-1483 or sharon@toucancalligraphy.com

The Watt Center invites the donation of works created by area artists to their growing collection. Please contact Mary Sidwell 740-926-1547 or Beverly Hannahs 740-425-1457 for information. Visitors are welcome at monthly meetings, held on the second Wednesday evening, 6 p.m., at The Watt Center. Tours of their local history displays are open to all by appointment.
