Woe for the valley

Published:

It seems just when you think you have seen it all, surprise. While I watched the local tv news during the recent snowstorm I could not believe what I saw. They were all geared up with thier coverage of winter sports and games to be played while beneath the sportscaster school closings rolled by beneath his image. What is the number one agenda for this area?Obviously,it must be sports and not education.A picture in a local paper shows young men standing by a sign promoting a stadium as the greatest classroom the school system has to offer. As sad as this is it is probably true. Then just when things have settled down, one of the valley's town leaders makes an off the cuff remark which was steeped in pure racism. It is humorous to me to listen to these leaders put thier foot in mouth and continue to set in the posts they fill.Wake up and smell the coffee.Taxes spent for the education of your children should not be used to train future athletes but to train future leaders.
