Clean air and a future

Published:

Recently in the enterprise a letter to the editor was submitted by a local coal operator. He predicted gloom and doom for our nation if the current clean air bill is passed. What will become of our country if it is not passed? We can look to the horizon,if you can see it,and expect business as usual in the good old USA.Mountains in the beautiful state of West Virginia reduced to wastelands. Our streams polluted by "accidental" spills of coal slurry. This does not seem to be a legacy worthy of our children inheriting.Moving toward cleaner sources of energy will not only give our children a chance for a brighter future, but may be enough to lead the world into the next century. For far too long we have been bombarded by the same old draconian speeches about jobs meaning more than the enviorment.Today could be the dawn of a bright future for all.Together Americans can stand behind these brave legislators and change the course of mankind while there is still time.
