I have been watching the news and talking to friends about their careers as school teachers.
America will be loosing about 1 million school teacher to retirement within the next 5 years. That is 1 million teachers out of 3.2 million educated and licensed school teachers in the United States. Many of the veteran school teachers have the basic bachelors degree in education as required by law plus one or more masters degrees and in some cases doctorates.
New school teachers have a drop out rate that is considered to be alarming. Many new school teachers find other professions because of job frustrations and low pay within 5 years of their college graduation.
Our children are the most precious resource that we have and we should provide the best education that we can for them. The reason is simple, they are leaders, the workers and the tax payers of tomorrow, but most of all, they are our children.
