The Belmont County Retired Teachers Association two spring meetings and luncheons are scheduled for April 15 and June10, 2010. Both will begin at 12 o'clock at the Belmont Hills Country Club. Reservations for the April meeting are required and may be made by contacting Janis LeRoux at (740)-325-1160 by April 10.
The menu for the April meeting will be beef brisket, mashed potatoes, green beans, cherry pie, and coffee or tea. Luncheon cost will be $12, made payable by check to Belmont County RTA and sent to Treasurer Janis LeRoux, 3496 Franklin St., Bellaire, Ohio 43906
Guest Speaker for the April meeting will be Mark Statler from Alternative Home Health. He will be speaking on eligibility and services of their agency. Jeffrey Rokisky will be the featured speaker at the June meeting. His topic will be that of elder care law, Medicaid planning, and estate and administration planning.
Judy Jeffers and Rose Durant, of the community services committee,
request that members support the Tri-County Help Center and the Food Panty during the April and June meetings. Members can bring items of personal care in April for the Help Center, and nonperishable food items and paper products will be collected for the local Food Pantry at the June meeting.
Elected officers for 2010 are as follows: Eileen Haught, president; Nancy Adriano, vice-president; Nancy Thomas, recording secretary; Donna Kennedy, corresponding secretary; Janis LeRoux, treasurer; Suzanne Montgomery, past president; Marilyn Pirozak, historian. Committee Chairpersons are Jeff Durant, legislative; Judy Jeffers and Rose Durant, community participation; Judy Nemeti, membership; Dennis Kennedy, informative and protective services; Jan Zeik, public relations; Barbara Heidelbach, hospitality and scholarship; Joan Reischman, sunshine; Betty Rippey, telephone; Mary Ann Gallagher and Nancy Murphy, retirement planning; and Suzanne Montgomery, music.
Current members are encouraged to continue their support of the scholarship fund and new members are always welcome.
