With the route of the Rockies Express Pipeline up in the air, we may or may not see the tax revenue from that possible source.
The model for this taxable entity can easily be based upon the Transmission Tax that West Virginia uses to tax utilities that pass through their fine state.
Even at low per cubic foot rate, such as a penny per cubic foot, this pipeline could generate over $650,000 for the schools ever year. If the pipeline changes what is flowing through the pipeline, the school board should have alternate valuations built in to the tax model for this revenue.
