Shown is an art poetry creation of Steve (Easy) Whitacre who will be featured as poet for the fourth concert of the SHOWCASE 2017 Summer Series this Thursday, July 20. The program, which is set for 7 p.m. at Community Arts Place in Barnesville, will be presented by classic oldies entertainers Roz and Lynn of Dillonvale.

Some of Whitacre's poetry was printed in previous (July 6) programs. The concert committee is happy to reprint more of his work for this next evening show. Many area people have submitted literary works throughout the years for programs. This is the fourth year of the Poets Showcase Roll of Honor and Whitacre of Barnesville is the third inductee in the class of 2017. Kimberli Ann Vetula Adamson and sister, the late Daphne Stephania Vetula, were in this year's class for first and second concerts.

The Roz and Lynn performance will include rock n' roll, doo-wop, country, love songs and a few polkas. Their song list is a wonderful variety of music from the 50s to the 80s for people of all ages. Social clubs, organizations and retirement communities always enjoy their oldies events. They also do fairs, festivals and outdoor concerts, as well as banquets, reunions, birthday and anniversary celebrations.

A food stand will be open during the evening. Those coming to the program should bring lawn chairs, but, in case of rain, it will be indoors at the Little Rocks Learning Center (former Grange Hall) on Shamrock Drive. Donations are appreciated. Blossoms of Barnesville will provide prizes for a drawing.
