THE SHOWCASE 2017 Summer Concert Series opens its 34th season on Thursday, June 8 with a 7 p.m. program by Joe Williams & Deep Water from Senecaville. The concert will be held at Community Arts Place on Colonel Drive in Barnesville. A food stand will be open during the evening. There will be poetry featured in the concert program booklet.
Joe Williams & Deep Water's signature is their smooth, drivin' bluegrass style of great classic favorites coupled with many original songs. The band's current four-piece group has been performing together since 2010. Members are: Joe Williams guitar and lead vocals; Connie Williams, mandolin, harmony and lead vocals; Rich Smith, banjo and vocals; and Carol Smith, upright bass.
Joe is also a great song writer and has written or co-written all but one song on their first CD, "Grip on the Night" and one tune on their latest CD, "Requests". They feel very privileged to have opened for many great national artists. Their schedule is continually growing, but there's always room for more.
The SHOWCASE 2017 Summer Series is presented in cooperation with the performers, area merchants, and services. Those coming to the musical program should bring lawn chairs. In case of rain, events will be moved to the Little Rocks Learning Center (former Grange Hall) on Shamrock Drive. Donations are appreciated.
