Spring Gospel Meeting

A Spring Gospel Meeting with guest speaker Phil Grear will be held at the East Main Church of Christ in Barnesville, March 26-30. There will be three sessions on Sunday: 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. A session will be held each evening, Monday-Thursday at 7 p.m. Please join them as Phil Grear from Springfield, Ohio shares God's word on the topic of stewardship and having the heart of a servant.

 

Ladies Night to Be Revived

The Kennonsburg United Methodist Church is having a Ladies Night to Be Revived on March 25 at 6 p.m. The church is located at 57599 Kennonsburg Rd. Salesville, OH. The event is free. The guest speaker is Judy Howald who has a beautiful testimony, one that will touch your heart and bless your soul. We will have special music, followed by praise and worship. There will be a covered dish dinner following the service.

Benefit rigatoni dinner March 18

There will be a benefit rigatoni dinner for Rick Truax on March 18 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Albert S. George Youth Center in Barnesville Memorial Park. Tickets for the dinner are $8 each and are available at Annie K's Restaurant. Eat-in or take out will be available. Orders for t-shirts are also being taken and donations are being accepted by his family and friends for the benefit. Please contact Doty at (740) 310-1734 or Amanda at (740) 312-4398. Rick has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the lungs and brain. Proceeds will be given to him to help with the many extra expenses he is experiencing during this trying time. Rick is a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and has worked for the Village of Barnesville for 30 years. He is a 28-year member of the Masons and was a volunteer fireman for 10 years.

 

Breakfast fundraiser March 25

A breakfast fundraiser, with proceeds going to Abba's Heart Ministries International, will be held on March 25 at Shekinah Christian Church, Barnesville. Cost is by donation. Service will be from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu will include sausage links, scrambled eggs, pancakes and syrup, biscuits and gravy, coffee, orange juice and milk. Dine in or take out available.

 

Barnesville BOE meeting date change

Notice is hereby given that there will be a regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Barnesville Exempted Village School District on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be located at the Barnesville Exempted Village School's Middle School Cafetorium to discuss all matters deemed necessary by the Board and the Superintendent.

Spring craft bazaar at Astoria Place

A spring craft bazaar will be held at Astoria Place of Barnesville on Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be food, baked goods and beverages. Those interested in having a table at the bazaar should call Lisa Delman a Astoria Place at (740) 425-3648.

 

Chamber banquet set for April 27, nominations sought for awards

The annual Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce Community Banquet is set for Thursday, April 27th in the Elk's ballroom. Guest speaker will be Murray Energy Corporation CEO Robert E. Murray. Nominations for annual awards such as Employee of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Citizen of the Year should be sent to the chamber office by e-mailing bacc@barnesvilleohiochamber.com or by calling (740) 425-4300. Donations of door prizes and auction items are also sought.

 

Trip to benefit hospital auxiliary

The Barnesville Hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring a tour of Biblical proportions to the Ark Encounter & Creation Museum on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15.

The trip will include motorcoach transportation, one night hotel accommodations, admission to the Ark Encounter & Creation Museum, one diner/ lunch/ breakfast, driver tip, escort, tax and gratuities.

Injured vs. Orphaned Wildlife Meeting

On March 23, 2017, you are invited to this informative meeting on determining whether the wildlife species you come across is injured, orphaned, or should be left alone. This meeting will be held at the Barnesville Library Annex at 611 N Chestnut St. Barnesville from 5:30- 6:30 pm. Topics will include wildlife habits, what to do in your situation, and how to become a wildlife rehabilitator and what it entails. Our special guest is Nicole Hafer, Muskingum County Wildlife Rehabilitator and Muskingum SWCD Wildlife Specialist/Educator. RSVP by March 22, 2017.
