CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cleveland police say a chase that lasted more than 5 miles and began with a shot fired near police headquarters led to a gunfight that killed two suspects. There are no reports of any injuries to officers.

Media reports said the suspects led officers on a chase about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Cleveland, Bratenahl (BRAT'-ih-nahl) and East Cleveland. The chase ended with the two suspects being fatally shot by officers near a school that remained closed Friday.

WEWS-TV's Mike Vielhaber (VEEL'-hay-behr) was doing a previously arranged ride-along in a patrol car that was sent to the scene. He says the suspects' car and a patrol car involved in the chase each had about a dozen or more bullet holes.

The suspects' names haven't been released.
